—Was Barcelona one of your first choices?
Spain was one of my first choices. I wanted to go to Chile cause of my college, my family thought it would be better, but I wanted to learn Spanish, so I chose Europe.
—What difference do you see between Leipzig and Barcelona?
It’s a really different culture, there’s more people walking around the street. Lot of typical food here like potatoes, castanyas… very different from Germany.
— Did they accept you in the class?
Yeah, they were very open and very welcoming.
—Did you like your host family?
Are you feeling comfortable?
Yes, it’s sometimes difficult because I’m a completely different person to them, and they have to adapt to me and I have to adapt to them.
—How much have you been living here?
I’ve been living here like 2 months.
—Do you have knowledge in the language of Spanish and Catalan?
No, they didn’t teach me a lot, I didn’t study Spanish at school and Catalan was totally new for me.
— What surprised you about Barcelona?
The streets are like, always up, and down, while in Germany is flatter. The people are very open even they don’t know me, they sometimes do this in Germany but not that much like here.
The restaurants are really loud, and they talk with a lot of expression, while in Germany it’s kind of quieter.
